Economics / Statistics
The cooperation of the member companies within the Association is also effective for rationalisation in the individual enterprises. By comparing the costs in the domains of field sales, energy, assurances and the like up to intensive intercompany comparison each company taking part will get the possibility to identify in-house weak points. Besides the creation of purchasing pools also rationalisation studies may result in important cost savings, e.g. in the domains of sample sizes, width of fabrics and the like.
In addition, the tasks of the Association in the domain of economics are including the intensive exchange of experiences regarding tax issues. But also the rationalisation in business connections between the individual economic levels is a main feature of cooperation of the member companies. The Association informs its members on these developments with focus on the clientele, and pleads for problem solving by an exchange of experiences and by negotiations with consumer associations, thereby avoiding that one economic level will benefit from rationalisation advantages at the other’s expense.
Each producer will need a multitude of data and information for his business and marketing policy. The figures of the official statistics are not sufficient for this purpose. Due to the fact that these are available mostly with delay they are no longer up-to date when published. This is the reason why the statistics compiled by the Association have become more and more important, not only because they fill in the gaps in the data of the Federal Statistical Office but also because they provide a wide spectrum of key data in addition. For example, this statistical information of the Association with branch-specific relation and regular up-to date reporting comprises:
Member data on:
- Development of production, sales and turnover on the domestic market and abroad
- Receipt of orders
- Stocks
- Receipt of payments
- Export targets
- Trade channels / domestic sales developments
Branch data on:
- Production and foreign trade
- Use / consumption of raw material
- Costs structure / added value
- Competition products / consumer fields
- General economic framework / economic development
