Bodo Th. Bölzle was elected President of the European Federation of Sewing Thread Industries

Athens, 16 October 2008 – During the General Assembly of the European Federation of Sewing Thread Industries (E.F.T.) – held in Athens on 16 October 2008 - the head of the honorary Board was changed. Bodo Th. Bölzle (CEO and speaker of the management of Amann & Soehne GmbH & Co. KG, Bönnigheim) was elected new President of the federation located in Wuppertal, thus being the successor of Dr. Peter Gütermann (Gütermann AG, Gutach/Breisgau) who held this office since 1995. Mr Gütermann was no longer available for re-election due to reasons of age.

In addition, the following gentlemen were elected to the Executive Committee: 
  • Vice President Peter Zwicky (Gütermann AG, Gutach/Breisgau)
  • Treasurer Maarten Vanwalle (B.S.T.-Belgian Sewing Thread n.v., Deerlijk, Belgien)
  • Committee Member Massimo Petronio (Coats, Bräunlingen)
  • Committee Member Denis Sarafis (EL. D. MOUZAKIS S.A., Athens, Greece)
"We sincerely thank Mr Peter Gütermann for his work during the last thirteen years. He managed the association skilfully and with foresight and commitment,” the new President Bodo Th. Bölzle said. Last year, then still under the presidency of Mr Gütermann, the federation was conducted from the FEDERATION INTERNATIONAL DE LA FILTERIE – FIF – into the new federation E.F.T. At the same time the office of the federation was relocated from France to Wuppertal to the “House of the Home Textiles Industry”. Mr Gerhard Sperling was appointed new Secretary General.

The E.F.T. is the representation of the most important European producers of sewing threads and embroidery yarns. It is the task of the federation to bundle the interests of the members and to represent these interests vis-à-vis the appropriate decision-making bodies on a European level.
